Staub Technique by Robert Cain
The Staub Cranial System is a method of placing denture teeth in the original physiological position. By locating certain bone reference points on stone models, we can determine mathematically the individual ideal tooth position. A computer software program calculates the tooth position and prints a template which can be attached to a set up plate to be used as a guide to set the denture teeth. This allows for esthetic try in and bite record on the second visit. There will be a “hands on” segment where we will be breaking into smaller groups.
Implant Overdentures – Chairside and Laboratory Procedures
This presentation will focus primarily on techniques for removable overdentures with stud type attachments. Step-by-step approach will be presented with chairside and laboratory procedures. Bar-type overdentures and fixed-detachable hybrid dentures will also be detailed as alternative restorations.
Sleep Apnea and the Denturist – By Dr. Richard Moore
In this class, we will have a discussion about the Denturists’ role in the identification, laboratory or at-home testing, attainment of a proper diagnosis and the provision of therapy and long-term management of the Sleep Apnea patient.
Denturist Panel Discussion
Ever had a big question about practicing Denturism that you’ve wanted to get a good range of opinions on from some of the top experts in your field? Now is your chance. EVENT SPEAKERS
This presentation will cover the most important aspects of complete removable dentures reloaded to include implant retained over-dentures and why unsuccessful cases are generally a result of an inadequate assessment and poor esthetic analysis thereby leading to a weak treatment plan. Helpful tips to eliminate this situation will be detailed. Making the most desirable impressions both internal and external for edentulous, dentate for immediate and implant overdentures will bring the audience up to current methods. See how predictable fit and esthetics are obtained in the immediate denture arena even when implants are placed the day of extractions. The number two problem plaguing removables is an inaccurate jaw registration. A precise jaw recording will be described in detail, for complete, partial, immediate and overdenture procedures. To sum it all up Dr. Massad will describe in detail several implant overdenture cases utilizing all of the above methods.

Course: Do you find that lower dentures are the nemesis in your office? Do you struggle to have an alternative to offer patients that are not candidates for lower implants? Join Esther Schwenning R.D., SEMCD in this informative introductory discourse giving you the insight into the Dr. Abe Suction Impression Technique. This is a new clinical impression system that offers both stability and suction on lower dentures. Define who would be a candidate, and what the contraindications for this procedure would be. We will discuss the restorative techniques that will give optimum results for your patient. This includes proper record taking, and appropriate tooth selection and set up. Also will be discussed is how to maintain proper recall for your patients to provide them with optimal care.

Eugene Royzengurt DTG is the Owner of Apple Dental Laboratory LLC, Sandy, UT, specializing in removable prosthodontics. He has an AS degree and certificates in dental assistance and dental radiology and has been working in the dental industry since 1996.
Course: In the world where the implant retained removable prosthetics are no longer a novelty item, we cannot afford to present to our patients a prosthesis that has a typical denture look. The need for the balance between function and aesthetics can now be addressed with the use of composite veneering of the denture base and also by choosing a treatment plan that will not only retain a prosthesis but will offer superior hygiene and longevity of the implant regions. During the lecture Mr. Royzengurt will cover the protocols for the fabrication of the double structure implant retained removable prosthetics with the use of plunger locks. The lecture will not only include all the proper steps for the fabrication of such prosthesis, but will also cover some of the common mistakes made and how to correct them.

Oregon State Denturist Association’s (OSDA) spring conference was a great success. A banquet was held to honor pioneer denturists, founding board members, dedicated 35 year members and past presidents with honorary coins and awards given. Several pioneer members spoke at the banquet, including Dave Dahl, Ken Holden, and Phil Dahl who helped lead the fight to legalize Denturism in Oregon. OSDA honored all who attended, whether as past or current board member, executive director, a new member or a student (future denturist). Thank you to all who attended. Heidi van Giffen, OSDA President, greeted the group. “I could not have fulfilled my term as an efficient President for the Association without the wonderful hard working Officers and Board of Directors who served with me. Thank you for investing much of your time and energy supporting the Association. Also, thank you to every association member, your support is greatly needed and appreciated. It was an honor serving as President of such an amazing association!” (Heidi will now serve as Secretary/Treasurer; Congratulations to Nels Hvass and Chris Chapman, President and President elect respectively) Look for more information about this successful conference in the OSDA newsletter arriving with the fall issue of The National Denturist, USA.
